Liquid is the format for people who will not swallow a capsule, and for actives that need to be absorbed quickly. The carrier decides almost everything: an alcohol tincture extracts resins and alkaloids well but stings and is not suitable for children; a glycerite is sweet, alcohol-free and gentle but extracts a narrower range of compounds; an oil base such as MCT carries fat-soluble vitamins and cannabinoids but cannot carry water-soluble minerals. We choose the carrier from the active and the target consumer, not from what is already in the tank.
The second decision is dose per drop, and it has to be honest. A 30 ml bottle with a 1 ml dropper holds roughly 600 drops at 20 drops per ml, so a 1,000 IU vitamin D3 dose means about 50 IU per drop. If the label promises more than the carrier can dissolve, the excess settles as sediment within weeks. We run solubility and stability checks before artwork is approved, so what the customer shakes out on day 300 matches the panel.

Every lot is released against a specification covering appearance, clarity, pH, specific gravity, fill volume, assay of the declared actives per ml, microbial limits and heavy metals. Preservative efficacy is challenged where a water-based formula requires it, and retain samples are kept for the full shelf life so a separation or taste complaint can be traced to a batch.
Liquids fail in two predictable ways: sediment, because the concentration exceeded solubility, and leakage, because the dropper fit is wrong for the bottle neck. We test solubility at the target concentration during development and run a leak and torque check on every lot, which is cheaper than a returned pallet.
